Who we are
Who's who behind the Foundation
Tiaan is the grandson of Professor Barnard. He is the son of Deirdre Barnard and shares the same passion in providing help and care to those who are less fortunate. After completing his bachelors at the University of Stellenbosch he moved to London where he also completed his MBA. He returned to South Africa in December 2013 and started work on re-launching his grandfathers foundation.
Tiaan works in private healthcare, although not in a clinical role, and has built up many good contacts within the world of healthcare.
Dr Andre Brooks
Dr Brooks obtained his MB.ChB from the University of Stellenbosch in 1993. His internship was done in 1994 at Livingstone Hospital, Port Elizabeth, in the Eastern Cape. Under the guidance of very experienced and enthusiastic senior surgeons he built up a clinical experience in all aspects of the specialty. Two years later, 1997, Dr Brooks was accepted as a Registrar at the University Hospitals of Edinburgh. For his intermediate College exam he was awarded the Brebner Medal of Excellence.
